Mist rising over Chinese mountain peaks at dawn

Today’s meditation

The Water That Yields

The highest good is like water. Water benefits the ten thousand things and does not strive.

Tao Te Ching · Chapter 8

Today's reflection

Water asks for nothing and shapes everything. It settles in the low places others avoid, and by refusing to contend it is never defeated. Today, notice one situation where you are pushing. Set the pushing down for a single breath and let the shape of the moment receive you. Softness is not weakness; it is the patience of the river against the stone.
